Bio

Hello, I'm James - a film and video editor who's been in the game for over 20 years and in that time I've been lucky enough to work on some amazing projects with some of the best professionals in the business. Much of my career has revolved around huge-scale, multi-camera live events, music concerts and award shows but after such a long time in the industry, my work has encompassed nearly every genre of film and television from comedy sketches to quiz shows; light entertainment to high-end commercials and reality shows to fashion and long-form docs along the way.

Editing has taken me all over the planet and allowed me to work with some of the world';s most well-known and highly respected directors, producers and talent. I am used to working under immense pressure and to the tightest of deadlines for some of the most famous and demanding clients out there. My work on live events has included helping Danny Boyle and Hamish Hamilton to plan the filming of the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony and I’ve also cut The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, The MTV Europe Music Awards, The Laureus World Sports Awards and The Brits as well as editing live concerts for The Rolling Stones, U2, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Robbie Williams to name just a few.

Lately I have taken a bigger interest in high-end broadcast productions and I am extremely proud that I was recently employed to cut some of the highly regarded insert films for the BBC's flagship motoring programme, Top Gear. This, in turn, led to me heading over to Los Angeles to act as Lead Editor and help set up the first series of its sister show - Top Gear America. I am extremely proud and grateful to have recently been granted an American O1 visa permitting me to work in the United States after having met the extremely tough criteria needed to be eligible for it and recognised as an “Alien With An Extraordiary Ability” (which is a status that I will never get bored of quoting!). I now work in LA quite frequently on music specials and primetime network shows including So You Think You Can Dance, Showtime At The Apollo, Stand Up 2 Cancer and HBO’s Flight of The Conchords: Live In London.

I love my job and am truly excited by the unique challenge every single project brings with it, if you like what you see, give me a call. I'm open to any type of production just so long as it's exciting, creative and most importantly - fun!

Cheers

James
